How to Make More Money as an Affiliate Marketer

May 6th, 2010 Bob Yeager No comments

Affiliate marketing is the most popular approach to making money on the web, today. With all the success stories associated with affiliate marketing, it’s a usual choice because it also looks easy to do. Experience crushes the perceptions when new marketers get a taste of how difficult it can be. And that’s one often-cited reason people will say affiliate marketing doesn’t work well. But the real truth about it is that it does work, very well, if you’re willing to do what’s required to be successful. Here are a few ways to increase your conversions and earn more money through affiliate programs.

First things first – do not be a stubborn marketer. Got that? If one affiliate program is not working for you, switch to another one. Maybe that program just isn’t for you for some reason that really does not matter. It’s possible the policies were too totalitarian, or something. Never know, maybe the commissions just are not very good. Sometimes the product appeal to you, as the marketer, loses its flavor and appeal. Maybe you don’t like the way the company is run. Look, it does not matter why, really, in the end if it’s not working out the way you thought it would pack it in and call it a day. When you work within a program you enjoy and trust you are more likely to make a profit. If you’re marketing affiliate products with your own site, always consider your visitors as having the highest priority in your marketing. Write your content for your readers, not just to sell products. People get bombarded with advertising messages all day, and they will be able to know the difference. If you offer high quality content that is useful, your readers will want to explore your affiliate links out of natural interest. Readers are more likely to trust an affiliate who lets the sales come second and the readers come first. You’ll have more success and be more profitable with content-based sites than a pure sales website.

It’s not a good idea to try to sell every single product from one company, instead just market several. You are going to like some products more than others. If you promote the products that appeal to you and you have a good feeling about, then your chances of success and sales will increase. You’ll also produce more sales if your site is less cluttered with ads, etc. The primary reason for this is creating a more pleasant and relaxed atmosphere on your site.

With affiliate marketing, you’ll soon realize you can make money in many different ways. Remember that affiliate marketing is still the most widely used approach to make money online. There are thousands and thousands of happy people who are content to earn their livelihoods with this. You can always look for new things to market, there’s nothing stopping you except your own motivation. Learn your craft, work hard, be patient and you’ll be able to do this all the time – and be a happy camper.

SEOLinkVine is an exceptionally effective part of the community of link websites constructed by Brad Callen, who is notable for the variety of outstanding services and products that are associated with his name. Used for leveraging article marketing, SEOLinkVine drives targeted traffic via an automated system. There are two places that web traffic originates from: people who find your website through the use of a search engine, and clicks from your articles which are being hosted on other websites. Both of these sources improve your search engine ranking.

The thing that makes these services work is the fact that they can potentially attract viral traffic with the use of articles that are syndicated throughout the Internet. If you achieve syndication on a global scale, you will continue to benefit well into the future and you will easily achieve high search rankings and see a constant stream of traffic. This is a winning combination for everybody. Read on to see analysis and scrutiny of SEOLinkVine, especially its importance and value to your online promotional and marketing efforts.

The power to change SEO is right here: SEOLinkVine Bonus

First, when using SEOLinkVine, in addition to a multitude of tools, one of the best features offered is the ability to spin articles.

What makes this one feature different from other services is that; article spinning here is manually controlled, which is the best way of doing it. Any service that uses an automated spinning tool should be avoided at all costs because the content that gets created as a result of this will be nothing but useless content. While you do not need to opt to spin your submissions, it is a recommended technique to help avoid any unintended plagiarism.

Owners of blogs in our network maintain direction of which articles they reject, and if your article does not turn out to be at least 30% original (and that is the minimum amount), then a large number of them would elect to pass on your article.

If your content isn’t spun, your articles will be run on a lot less sites and thsi will not increase the number of hits or sales you get through links. One simple and effective way to spin article content in your writing is to provide a number of different versions of each sentence. With greater number of variations, your content will prove to be more one of a kind. Although they will have varying words, all of the variations of the article will still mean the exact same thing. The final product will turn out to be exactly what you need, as the software can simply develop thousands of original variations of your content by assembling different parts of sentences. Since the order will be the same, the article will turn out to be very logical.

SEOLinkVine is different than the other article marketing websites. This service is well worth the price you pay, because your articles and links are guaranteed to be seen by thousands of readers. Subscribers who pay may submit an unlimited number of articles to be published on the network.

You won’t find the amazing publishing flexibility offered anywhere else; you have the chance to publish your own articles on hundreds of targeted blogs. Your only job is to write and submit high quality blog posts to the network to see good results. Your competition won’t have a chance. The service does cost, but it is incredibly small when compared to the excellent results you are sure to see.

Marketing through articles is a smart means of gaining visitors on your website and of boosting your search engine placements via link building. SEOLinkVine is the best and easiest way to get the distribution and content that you need.  I want to give you your SEOLinkVine Bonus

Just Saying it Doesn’t Make it True

December 29th, 2009 Bob Yeager 2 comments

Clark Stanley's Snake Oil Liniment. Before 1920.

A Guide for the Liars of Marketing and Sales

“Bat Guana is Responsible for 2% of the World’s Methane Poisoning!”

It’s ironic.

If you were to read that headline in a trashy tabloid or gossip magazine, you wouldn’t give it a second thought and you’d be happy with going about your day. Yet, if you were to read that same headline on a newspaper or sales page you’d give it some thought and perhaps read further.

Is the statement true? I seriously don’t know, but it isn’t my job to know that is it? Alright, enough of the cloak and dagger stuff, I’ll get to my point. If you are a sales or marketing professional there is one solid truth you and the rest of us must live by. Just because we say it’s so, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s true. There has to come a point in time where marketers and sales people hold themselves accountable for the claims they make. Even if those claims reside in a three lined piece of ad copy, you have to back up your facts.

Even the FTC is jumping on board with this. Recently the FTC released ammendments to long existing guidelines about the whole “results are not typical testimonials.” It would seem some of the juice, snake oil, pills and potion pushers wereflying a bit to close to restricted airspace with company and corporate testimonials that laid claim to some pretty outrageous results. In today’s world there are two types of consumer and buyers. On one side, there is the consumer who consumes some, then more, then more and before you know it their credit card bills are more than they make in a year and it’s your fault they spent money they didn’t have.

Some could say that statement is from a marketer so it doesn’t necessarily mean it is true. You’d be right. But, the marketing industry has tested time and again that most consumers are not aware of all the purchases they have made over a twelve month time period. Further, most consumers do not understand what they are purchasing or, don’t even understand it after they have purchased it. I can take this even further to state my own research has shown that nearly ninety percent of consumers facing buyer’s remorse will not even ask for a refund or return a product because they believe it will be too much of a hassle or cost them more in the long run.

It’s sad the sales and marketing industries have become professions where a lie is more common than the whole truth. Imagine this, if for just a moment:

You are a professional author who has just met a team of scientists who have discovered a cure for cancer. You ask the scientists for permission to write about their discovery with the hopes more agencies will help fund their discovery and testing. You write your book, it gets picked up by a publisher and the publisher asks for results based testimonials. You’re stuck. You have nothing to present this publisher with since the discovery is barely out of the testing phase. You are attempting to sell an idea or product without backing up what it will do for the end user.

In another scenario, all the above applies except for the fact you have scientific data and research that shows what the scientists’ testing has discovered and what their projected progress could be if they had the proper funding. This allows for an educated decision to be made by your publisher and investors.

In both scenarios, there was a passion surrounding an idea or “product”. In the first scenario, the author (or marketer) was providing no substantial proof of the benefits of such an idea or product.

In the second scenario, were testimonials provided? Did the author have statements from human test subjects that sold results or miraculous cases of cancer being cured? No, in both cases no user or results based testimonial was utilized or needed. Although, in the second scenario, the author presented data and projection which could allow the end reader to come to a specific conclusion. This is called pre-supposition and it allows our consumers or audience to come to their own conclusions based upon FACTS we as sales people and marketers may present to them. No smoke and mirrors, no hyped up sales claims or testimonials; they simply have the facts and benefit information of the products or services you are selling.

Imagine, a world of marketing and sales where the consumer is savvy to marketing and sales tactics. Oh… they already are savvy you say? Imagine a world where marketers are too reliant on results based testimonials instead of facts and benefits of a product that can be proven. Really, marketers and sales people are already too reliant on hyped up claims and testimonials?

Imagine this for a moment. What if buyers could come into a sales or marketing situation and be presented with the solution they are looking for? What if they could learn what all the benefits are that your product has to offer while still learning how much it is going to cost them, how much it will save them compared to your competition and what level of a solution it will provide? In this scenario, you could weed out buyer’s remorse. With these elements laid in place, you would no longer need worry or rely on results based testimonials. With the straight honest truth without the hyped claims, you’d have to rely on your product or services own merits and value.

Here’s my final question for you. Could you do this for your market place or, does your product need the hyped up claims?

Would you like to learn the honest way of doing business in marketing and sales without all of the hyped up tactics but instead achieve bigger results by being honest? Click Here

WHAT MARKETERS ARE UNCOSCIOUSLY DOING AND HOW YOU CAN CAPITOLIZE ON IT

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED WWW.THEWESTPROGRAM.COM 2009 AND BEOND

Fun isn’t it? The title I mean. I’ve been having a lot of fun watching some
of the cartoon characters of the marketing world. They’ve been running around,
having fun, just being a bunch of guys who can kick back and kill some time.

Meanwhile, you spend your money on their products, you could use some of
their personal attention, but they’re a bit too busy for you after you spend a few
grand. How’s that make you feel?

I get it. I was under this ridiculous assumption that maybe if I purchased
some of their courses, that would somehow get me on the inside of the “Rat
Pack”. Remember them, the real Rat Pack? I’m kinda young but I think it was
Sammy Davis Jr. , Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. There may have been one
more, but you can just take a look at the characters of today’s marketing and see
the same group of the IN (NO not the I.M.) crowd and see that same untouchable
band of brothers.

Funny how marketers utilize the instance of celebrity to excel them into the
self-proclaimed guru position. It’s an awesome tactic, but a lot of work and a big
headache. See, with every celebrity comes the Poporazi. You know, the ones
running around taking pictures at the most inopportune times. Sometimes, they
are telling stories that were shared in the strictest of confidence, only to be sold
to the highest bidder by that celebrities closest friend.

I don’t necessarily like those folks, but it seems as if we could almost do the
same. Think about it. What if there were a certain marketing guy who chases
butterflies or something, and one day he had a picture that looked like the before
photo from the hair club for men and the next thing you know, he’s dressing like
a jock and has a full head of hair… hmm.

Nobody seems to talk about that stuff, or even how that method of
marketing that he uses is simply the chaos theory… and not well written at that.
Then you could have this beach bum guy, who was about 80lbs lighter a few
years back and got into a little trouble with the law; I wonder if people realize
that his marketing tactics are simply a poor attempt at NLP, or Black Ops
Hypnosis… hey wait, didn’t some guy with a “Star” in his name write that
course… he sure does sound an awful lot like the cousin of the beach bum… I
guess you have to be in the Rat Pack to know who I’m talking about.
But Wait… I’m Not in the Circle…

How Could I Possibly Know This?

Alright, that’s enough of my ranting. I’m going to stop with the literary ramblings and
innuendos of something fishy going on in the marketing world and get down to
strategy.

When I first came online, I was simply looking for a quick way to get my family off
Welfare. I wanted to work less with my body and more with my mind. It wasn’t easy
laboring in the winter time, chopping wood every day just to keep warm and I needed
a break… or my body was going to break.

So, I began to study all of these great marketers. No, not the cartoon ones. They
were pretty easy to figure out. They made broad stroke attempts at leveraging
peoples’ passions to market them, but their methods were a bit sloppy and crude.
That’s not to say they weren’t great at what they did, but when you are in the game
as long as these guys, you tend to mirror the superstar of your industry.

I remember a line from a Bill Murray movie, “Groundhog’s Day”. Bill said, “Maybe God
isn’t all powerful, maybe he’s just been around for so long that he knows a lot!”
I’m in no way implying that marketers are gods, but they are celebrity to their own
industry. I chose to study Jay Abraham, Brian Tracy, Chet Holmes and a few of the
other greats. Reason is, that’s who most of the cartoon guys today had study and
these were the guys who invented raw marketing and direct sales when it was in it’s
straight tie, smoke filled office, vodka in the middle of the day era.

You know, like “Mad Men”, advertising and marketing guys were the magical money
getters of their era and it is amazing how they have gone from a group of class, to a
group of ass… that’s cute, I wasn’t planning on typing that but it really flowed.
So the question begs, “How do you create celebrity status in the marketing world?”
Well, I don’t think you have to, but there is a way you can leverage “Celebrity” that is
much easier if you’d like to give it a shot.

I’m not sure, exactly, how this is going to turn out typed on this document, but by the
time I’m done here, I am going to show you how to leverage traffic that already exists
in order to generate some extra dineros for your family.

Take this into account: In no way am I saying this marketing method is for everyone
and in no way am I saying that it will work for those who do not follow all of the
steps. I am saying, however, that if you can get creative and focus on the goal at
hand… big bucks in little pockets, then you could probably have a lot of fun doing this
and you won’t be facing any competition.

Here Goes!

Cash in On Celeb Fame

For a while now, I’ve been testing a fun little project. I will not tell you the name of
the celebrity that I am using for this test, simply because I do not want your
competition and it is doing very well for me.

Basically, I’ve chosen a name of one of the most controversial, hottest celebs of all thetabloids out there and decided to make a blog around him. Then, I registered a domain name that is a bit something like this [ www.YOURCELEBNAMESUCKS.com ]

I know, it seems crude, but you’d be surprised. For every celebrity that people love
and there is a huge following for, there are plenty of folks out there that love to dish
and make fun of them as well. There’s a trick to this though.

You gotta chose a celebrity that has both types of fans. Yes, even those who hate
them are truly fans, just of a different nature. But, you want to be sure that this is a
celebrity that you actually like, that way you don’t get tired of writing about them.
Next, search your domain name in the search engines like this:

YOUR CELEB NAME SUCKS

Don’t use all caps like I just did, but you get it I’m sure. Then, open each of the
listings you find in Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL and whatever favorite search engine you
can find.

Copy and paste the URLs [website addresses] into a notepad document and save
them for later. These are going to be great sources of content. Next, install a word
press blog onto your own hosting account. If you’re not sure how to do this, simply go
to www.WordPress.org and learn how… it’s not rocket science.

Next, go to www.Google.com and type in the search phrase:

YOUR CELEB NAME MOVIES

See if you can’t find some movie sites that have affiliate programs attached to them.
Remember, Amazon has become pretty popular in the movie department and people
can download the movie they purchase directly to their computer and begin to watch
immediately (that type of instant gratification can be very appealing)

Once you have some affiliate links to your celeb movies, go back to your links that you
saved on your note pad document and begin to take notes on the many different
articles out there. Mixed with your positive opinion of the celeb, write a review of why
some people may think your celeb sucks and counter with the positive.

To reinforce this positive, at the end of each post, send people to your email sign up
form… whoops, go to www.Aweber.com and get an auto responder for about $19 per
month.

Then, as you write your review blog posts you can simply send out broadcasts on the
review and be sure to place your affiliate links to your celebrity’s movie underneath
the post… sort of a positive reinforcement back up to your post, getting your reader
involved in watching one of their films.

The best part is, when they buy that film from Amazon, you get paid!

Nice right? Here’s the coolest part. You never run out of content about famous celebs
and most of the time you don’t have to create your own. You can grab a You Tube
video and embed it on your blog post

{There are plenty of tutorials out there to show you how}

Then, you write a review of the movie trailer or whatever celeb clip you got, just
beneath that video on your blog. Be sure to also start a link section on the side of
your blog.

You will want to go to www.HubPages.com, www.Squidoo.com, www.GoogleKnol.com
and many other content sites and write and post even more content. On these sites,
you really want to get people back to your blog.

OK… the big question that comes up on the rare occasion that I teach this. “Why
should you pick such a negative domain name about the celebrity?”

Simple… negative headlines sell, the same usually holds true for a negative subject
line in an email to get better open rates, a negative title on a blog post or video as
well as, a negative domain name, which is typically the headline of your browser :)
Slick right? I think it is and through the testing I’ve done on this, with a couple of
partners that I lock in my basement, I’ve found that the influx of traffic, the open
rates of emails and the willingness to purchase the movies on Amazon, are some of
the best sales and subscriber conversions I’ve ever received.

All this without creating your own product, you can write or record about someone
you don’t mind talking about. You’ll virtually never run out of content, which means
you will be able to post new content every day, thereby giving you new search engine
listings and all while only having an auto responder, a hosting account and a domain
name to pay for.

Domain and Hosting Account: www.HostGator.com

Auto responder: www.Aweber.com

You’re looking at about $28 a month or less.

One you get one site up and successful, talking about one celeb and you start seeing
a profit, continue posting on that one with new content everyday and start an
additional one.

You will only want to start one of these at a time, that way you can see what is
working for you, fine tune it and hone your skills a bit.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this month’s WEST Newsletter and I do hope you can join us
for our newly enhanced World Entrepreneur Success Training Program. We actually
show you how to set all these things up properly, in a step by step fashion and once
you have the ground work laid, we show you how to implement advanced strategies
that nobody else out there is teaching today!

Check it out www.TheWESTProgram.com/west.html

I hope you enjoyed this Celeb Infiltration Tactic. If I see any of the Gurus using this
one, I’ll know that they stole it from me, because I created it in my mastermind group
6 weeks before I wrote this :)

Ciao
